Today, the day before we celebrate Mother's Day, I am thinking of all the beautiful women that I know who are mothers, grandmothers, childless mothers, surrogate mothers, single mothers, alone mothers, lonely mothers, happy mothers, fulfilled mothers et all. There has been a great deal of poetry written to and about mothers. I looked thru my books and found so many that I would like to share with all of you,but it was overwhelming and it wasn't from me.

I am a grandmother, and mother, with one incredible daughter who has blessed me with 4 children to love, and one incredible son who has blessed me with two children to love. I have reflected on the fact that my mother is coming to the end of her life and that I am now moving towards that journey myself. I have looked into my soul and remembered all the issues that I have had with my mother and have yet to thank her for what she gave me in bringing me to life. I have been so busy being angry and hurt by the trials and tribulations that come with life that I almost didn't see the sacrifices and efforts that my mother went through to give me the best that she could give me. I am grateful to the universe for giving me this second chance. My mother is alive and well, going towards 90 years of age, and I still have the time to tell her that I love her and to thank her. She taught me how to love.

I also want to tell each and every one of you how much I love you and thank you for being in my life. You have also mothered me and walked with me and held my hand on this journey. I have also mothered you and walked with you and held your hand. You are my friends and relations and I am blessed that you are in my life. I want to tell you how much I love you.

I will be going to see my mother on June 2nd thru June 16 to Sarasota, Florida. I will tell my mother in person how much I love her and what a great gift she is. I say a prayer of blessing to you and a wish that you can love your mother as well. The truth is, that she lives inside of us. She, the Divine Mother, the part of us that gives us unconditional love. The model that we all want in our mothers and in ourselves. No matter what we received in this lifetime, if we can remember her from that sacred place, then we can love our own selves unconditionally.
