About
the artists
This issue our pages are
adorned with the work of three wonderful
artists.
Suzanne
Deveuve created
our cover goddess, The Visionary, inspired by
the work of Angeles Arrien. Her paintings have
appeared in magazines and books, and she is
currently showing her work at the California
Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco.
Suzanne created covers for Z Budapest's A Holy
Book of Women's Mysteries, Grandmother of Time
and its sequel Grandmother Moon. She has also
designed covers for The Return of Pahana by
Robert Boissiere and The Alchemist's Almanac.
Her illustrations have appeared in Women's
Spirituality Calendar, Darshan magazine,
SageWoman, Sojourn and other publications. Her
line of greeting cards is available in select
stores or from her beautiful web site, at
http://www.deveuve-kelly.com.
Rose
Wognum Frances
is co-director of the Women's Spirituality
Program at the New College of California in San
Francisco, she is also a prolific artist working
to capture the moments of bright illumination
through mixed media. Read our interview with
this insightful scholar and teacher. And visit

We like to think of
Sandra
Stanton as the
"mother artist" of our venture, since her
paintings have graced our pages since the
beginning. Her generosity and encouragement have
been invaluable. Sandra has painted almost every
goddess you can think of and is always looking
for more inspiration from the sacred realm of
myth. Visit her fabulous web site where
goddesses appear who look like your friends and
neighbors, dressed up for the heavenly ball. The
pictures take a little while to download, so be
patient: it's worth it! You may order her prints
and cards there also: http://www.goddessmyths.com.
We welcome
Lorna
McLaughlin to
our pages with the winter 2001 issue. Lorna
writes, "i´m terrible with titles and
biographies, especially my own. but i´m42,
living in germany 4 years, before that i moved
around as much as possible to different states.
i´ve lived in michigan, tennessee,
texas,hawaii, west virginia, louisiana and
nevada. i think my need to move is one of my
defining characteristics. in art i am primarily
what is known as a "layerist." computer art
was just made for that. the picture you are
using has one vintage photograph, one piece from
an old encyclopedia, one of my ink drawings and
a few sections from a roll of negatives, all
scanned images worked to make a collage of
sorts."
